Add quick boosts of flavour to your summer BBQ!

It doesn’t take a lot of time to add quick boosts of flavour to any dish.

We’ve partnered with Emily Hill, from @WonderWhyImFat  to show you just how easy it is to boost your BBQ with flavour this summer. Her recipes featuring our Fried Onion, Watermelon and Pesto flavours are just a few examples of how you can take any dish, or everyday condiment from ordinary to extraordinary with just a few drops.

Watermelon Limeade

Prep Time 3 minutes
Servings 8

Ingredients

  • 1 can frozen limeade concentrate
  • 1 tsp Watermelon Food Flavouring

Instructions

  • Combine frozen limeade concentrate, and water in a pitcher. Add about 1 tsp of Hedessent Watermelon flavour. Stir and enjoy!

 

Tortellini Caprese Salad

Prep Time 10 minutes
Servings 5 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups tortellini, cooked
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup mozzarella balls
  • 1/4 cup basil, chopped
  • 3 tbsp garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2-4 drops Hedessent Pesto Flavouring
  • Drizzle of balsamic glaze

Instructions

  • Add the cooked tortellini, tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and basil into a large bowl.
  • Combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, Italian seasoning, and Pesto flavouring into a small bowl.
  • Pour the dressing over the tortellini, and stir to combine.

Notes

Ingredient Swap:
Can't eat raw garlic, or don't feel like mincing it for the Tortellini salad? Add 10 drops of Hedessent Garlic Flavouring. Get it in your Savory Starter kit along with the Fried Onion. Both of these flavours are also available in 60ml bottles. 

 

Fried Onion Flavour Boost for BBQ Sauce

Easily elevate the BBQ sauce you have in your fridge with some Fried Onion. Available in our Savory Starter Kit and in 60ml bottle.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Servings 8

Ingredients

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 3-8 drops Hedessent Fried Onion Flavour - taste and adjust
  • 4 chicken thighs

Instructions

  • Get the BBQ sauce you already have in your fridge, and stir in 3-8 drops of Hedessent Fried Onion Flavour.
  • Add salt and pepper to your raw chicken thighs and place it on your grill. Emily recommends removing the bone before hand so it cooks faster.
  • When chicken is about 75% done, cover with your BBQ sauce. Flip, add more sauce. Cook until done.
