We’re going Coco-nuts for these Mango Crêpes with Coconut Cream!

Heather Shaw brings a burst of tropical sunshine to the breakfast or brunch table with her vibrant Mango Crêpes with Coconut Cream. These bright and flavourful mango crêpes are a wonderful way to add some extra cheer to your day.

The classic combination of mango and coconut seemed appropriate for my first try at a flavoured crêpe batter. I loved using the Hedessent Green Mango for this, as opposed to the store-bought purees, which often add an abundance of unnecessary sugar without the benefit of added flavour. Hedessent’s Flavour Drops are the perfect solution, infusing all the  bright, tangy, tropical flavour of fresh mangos without any added sugar or fillers. – Heather Shaw

The best part about this batter is its amazing versatility. Not a fan of mango? Go for the tried-and-true classic combo of Strawberry and cream. Or maybe some Coffee Espresso with Hazelnut. The beauty of this recipe is that you can have fun with your favourite flavours and come up with something new each time!

But the flavour infusion doesn’t end with the batter. By using a plain base for the whipped cream, you can easily create fun and different flavour profiles. For this recipe Heather demonstrates how to easily create your own flavoured whipped creams. She kept the coconut flavour subtle while still imbuing an inherent sweetness to the dish without the added sugar – unlike most pre-made coconut creams, which are far too sweet and overly flavoured. This is where you can make these crêpes your own. Use more or less flavouring to suit your preference. Just remember to start small, taste, and adjust as you move along.

The use of fresh mango, which is completely optional, added a juiciness that complimented the Green Mango crepe. Whether you choose to use the fresh mango is your call. You can keep it simple and just use the flavoured whipping cream with a drizzle of honey. Either way, your dish will be delish!


Mango Crêpes with Coconut Cream

Servings 8 crepes


Crepe Batter

  • 1 ½ cups plant-based milk of choice
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/12 tsp turmeric
  • 1 1/14 tsp Hedessent Green Mango Flavour Drops

Coconut Cream

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp Hedessent Coconut Flavour Drops


  • Chopped fresh mango for serving


  • In a large mixing bowl, add plant-based milk, flour, baking powder, turmeric, Hedessent Green Mango, and honey. Whisk until the batter is smooth.
  • Heat an 8-inch non-stick pan over medium heat, tilt the pan and pour about ¼ cup of batter into the center of the pan, and swirl until the batter spreads evenly. Cook until the edges of the crepe begin to lift just slightly, 1- 2 minutes. Use a spatula to remove the crepe. Transfer to a plate and continue with the remaining batter.
  • Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold in Hedessent Coconut Flavouring.
  • Fold crepe in half, spoon some whipped cream onto the crêpe, and top with some fresh mango, if using.
  • Fold around the filling and drizzle with extra honey. Enjoy!
