‘Tis the season for gatherings and feasts, so start your get-together off right with this Roasted Fig and Ricotta Crostini drizzled with a sage honey.
This appetizer is bursting with seasonal flavours and has all the elements you need to keep the crowd happy – sweet, fresh, savory, smooth, and crunchy! And did we mention? The whole tray only takes 20 minutes to prep from start to finish, leaving you with plenty of time left over to mingle with your guests! Now that’s what we call a crowd-pleaser!
Roasted Fig and Ricotta Crostini with Sage Honey Drizzle
Ingredients
- 24 pre-made crostini
- 12 slices speck or prosciutto halved into 24 pieces
- 6 fresh figs, quartered
Fig & Garlic Ricotta
- 475 g extra smooth Ricotta cheese (1 container)
- 22 drops Hedessent Fresh Fig Flavour
- 10 drops Hedessent Garlic Flavour
Sage Infused Honey
- 1/2 cup honey
- 6 drops Hedessent Sage Flavour
Instructions
- Stir Hedessent Sage flavouring into honey and set aside.
- Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place fig quarters onto tray. Drizzle figs with 3-4 tbsp. of infused honey, roast for 8-10 minutes, until soft.
- In a food processor whip ricotta until smooth and fluffy. Transfer to a bowl and stir in Hedessent Fresh Fig and Garlic flavouring until fully combined.
- To assemble: Spread 1 tbsp. of whipped ricotta onto crostini. Place a folded piece of prosciutto and one roasted fig on top. Drizzle with reserved sage honey and garnish with fresh sage leaves.

Fig Cashew Cheese Crostini with Sage Infused Balsamic
Ingredients
- 24 pre made crostini
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup roasted salted almonds, chopped
- 6 fresh figs quartered. Small fressh fig leaves for garnish
Fig and Garlic vegan cheese
- 2 packages plain cashew cream cheese or homemade (450g)
- 1/3 cup plain almond milk
- 22 drops Hedessent Fresh Fig Flavour
- 10 drops Hedessent Garlic Flavour
Sage Infused Balsamic
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 6 drops Hedessent Sage Flavour
Instructions
- Combine sugar and boiling water until sugar dissolves. Stir in Hedessent Fig Flavour to balsmamic vinegar. Toss fig quarters in mixture
- Preheat oven to 350°. Place figs in shallow baking dish and roast for 8-10 minutes until soft. Reserve balsamic juices for drizzle.
- Using stand mixer or handheld mixer, whip cheese with almond milk until fluffy. Add Hedessent Fig and Garlic flavourings. Whip and combine.
- To Assemble: Place 1 tbsp chashew cheese on crostini. Top with 1/2-1 teaspoon chipped almonds and fig quarter. Top with sage leaf and drizzle with balsamic mixture.
