Something’s been happening in home kitchens lately, and we’ve been watching (and cheering) from the sidelines.
The Ninja Creami® craze is in full swing, and it’s clear that these frozen creations aren’t just a trend, they’re a full-blown obsession. And right in the middle of it? You. Our customers.
You’ve been tagging us in your flavour experiments, messaging us for ideas, and asking one big question: “When are you gonig to make Creami® recipes using your Flavour Drops?” We heard you loud and clear. So we got to work.
Our team dove into testing, tasting, tweaking, and Italian Ice felt like the perfect place to start. It’s simple, satisfying, and it puts our Flavour Drops front and center. But if you’re going to swap out “extracts” for our Flavours, there are a few things you need to know to make sure your batch turns out just right.
Start Small, Then Taste
Our Flavour Drops are significantly more concentrated than typical extracts. While many standard Creami® recipes call for 1 to 2 teaspoons of extract, using that same amount of our flavours could easily overpower your recipe. Instead, we recommend starting with just 20 drops to 1/4 teaspoon. Give it a mix, taste, and adjust as needed. It’s always easier to add more than it is to tone things down once the flavour goes too far.

Add Brightness with Acidity
A simple splash of lemon or lime juice can completely change the outcome of your Italian ice. Especially when you’re working with fruit flavours, that little bit of acid about (½ to 1 tsp) helps brighten and sharpen the overall taste. It doesn’t take much to make a noticeable difference.

Sweeten It Your Way
The standard Creami® Italian Ice recipe calls for about 1/2 cup of sugar. But to be honest, that can be a lot, especially for those who prefer less sweetness or are working with dietary needs. Once you’re familiar with the base recipe, we definitely encourage you to start experimenting.
If you’re using alternative sweeteners like stevia, remember: stevia is roughly 30 times sweeter than sugar. So you’ll want to use it sparingly and adjust carefully. Start small, taste, and fine-tune from there.
The best part? You still get bold, vibrant flavour throughout. That’s one of the biggest advantages of using our flavour drops. Unlike premade mixes, you’re in complete control. You can tailor everything, from the sweetener to the strength of flavour, to your own taste.

Change the Base, Change the Vibe
One of the great things about making Italian ice yourself is the freedom to experiment. For one batch, we swapped water for coconut water just to see what would happen. The result, especially when paired with Yuzu and Lime, was light and tropical. It’s a simple change, but it gives you a completely different flavour profile.
