Low Calorie Drinks with Mixology Matt

Big summer flavour without all the sugar.

We’re excited to be partnering with Mixology Matt again to showcase new ways to build flavour-forward cocktails with our Flavour Drops. For this collaboration, the focus was simple: create low cal cocktails that still feel bright, balanced, refreshing, and genuinely fun to drink.

No heavy syrups. No over-the-top sweetness. Just fresh ingredients, layered flavour, and a few drops working hard behind the scenes.

From crisp basil and peach to juicy watermelon and citrusy yuzu these cocktails are built for patio season and very easy to end up making more than once.

First up, the Basil Peach Refresher. Light, crisp, and low cal, this patio-ready cocktail combines juicy peach, fresh basil, and a bubbly finish that keeps everything refreshing without feeling overly sweet.

  • 1 oz Peach purée
  • 0.5 oz Lime juice

  • Pour into a glass over fresh ice.

Why It Works

Basil and peach are one of those flavour combinations that somehow feel both fresh and comforting at the same time. The basil keeps the drink tasting crisp and aromatic while the peach adds juicy sweetness without making things feel heavy.

The best part? You get all that layered flavour while keeping things low sugar and low calorie.

Next up… Watermelon Drop

The Watermelon Drop is bright, refreshing, lightly floral, and ridiculously smooth. Watermelon adds juicy freshness while Yuzu brings that punchy citrus edge that makes everything feel a little more elevated.

It’s clean, balanced, and dangerously easy to sip. Check it out.

Why Use Flavour Drops in Cocktails?

A lot of cocktail flavour comes from syrups, juices, and liqueurs. Our super-concentrated Flavour Drops make it easy to build flavour and depth without making drinks overly sweet or heavy.

Just a few drops can completely shift a cocktail, whether that means adding bright citrus notes, juicy fruit flavour, enhancing perceived sweetness without increasing sugar, or bringing in fresh herbal character. The result? Cocktails that still feel full of flavour while keeping things lighter, brighter, and lower in sugar.

If you don’t already know Matt, allow us to introduce you. He started mixing cocktails in the middle of COVID (some of us baked banana bread… Matt picked up a shaker). What began as a fun, creative outlet quickly turned into something he genuinely loved, and now he’s known for bold flavours, modern twists, and making pro-level cocktails feel totally doable at home.
