This recipe means access to cold brew any time you want it, without any expensive trips to your local coffee shop. Save your change (and your gas money) by steeping your grounds the night before, so you have all the cold brew your heart desires!
Our Caramel Flavour imparts just the right amount of creamy sweetness. Mixed with either our Vanilla Ice Cream Flavour or our Classic Vanilla Flavour, you have a cool, comforting gourmet cold brew to rival any store-bought version!
Cold Brew
Servings 6 cups

- Coffee Grinder
- 2 Litre Jar with lid
- Fine Sieve
- Cheesecloth
Ingredients
Cold Brew
- 1 litre / 4 cups water or tap water, at room temperature
- 2 1/4 cups dark roast whole bean coffee makes 2⅓ cups ground to medium coarseness
Sweet Cream Vanilla Caramel Cold Brew
- 1/2 cup cold brew
- 2-3 tbsp half & half, or milk, or non-dairy alternative
- 2 tbsp simple syrup
- 15 drops Hedessent Caramel
- 10 drops Hedessent Classic Vanilla OR Vanilla Ice Cream
Instructions
Cold Brew
- Coarsely grind the coffee beans in a coffee grinder until medium coarseness; aim for the size suited for a French press.
- Transfer to a 2 L jar and slowly pour filtered water over top; stir well to hydrate the coffee grounds. The coffee grounds will float to the top, make sure all the coffee grounds are wet.
- Cover and leave at room temperature for at least 12 hrs.
- Place a cheesecloth-lined sieve set over a large measuring cup or bowl; slowly pour concentrated coffee and grounds through the strainer without pressing (this will release bitter oils).
- Transfer to a clean jar and refrigerate for up to 7 to 10 days.
Sweet Cream Vanilla Caramel Cold Brew
- Fill a glass with ice; top with cold brew. Stir in Hedessent Caramel Flavour and Hedessent Classic Vanilla Flavour.
- In a measuring glass, stir half & half with simple syrup and salt (if using). Pour over cold brew and enjoy.
