This flavour-packed trail mix by Evolving Autumn is not only healthy but can be whipped up quickly! It’s a fun twist on the traditional trail mix. With three delicious options—Spiced Apple Cider, Sweet Heat, or Caramel Apple Pie—you can easily customize it to suit any taste.
The best part about this recipe is that it’s super flexible. You can mix in any nuts and seeds you love, making it a nutritious snack you can feel good about. Perfect for a quick pick-me-up during the day or a crunchy treat while binge-watching a show!
Trail Mix
Ingredients
- 3 cups total of your favorite nuts and seeds raw and unsalted (a mix of cashews, peanuts, walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds works well—1/2 cup each is ideal)
- 1.5 tbsp neutral oil sunflower or avocado are great options
- 1/4 tsp salt
FLAVOUR OPTIONS
Option 1: Spiced Apple Cider
- 3 tsp Hedessent Apple Cider Flavour Drops
- 2 tsp Hedessent Ginger Natural Flavour Drops
Option 2: Sweet Heat
- 3 tsp Hedessent Maple Flavour Drops
- 0.5-1 tsp Hedessent Chill Hot Flavour Drops 3/4 teaspoons provides a nice kick without being too spicy
Option 3:
- 3 tsp Hedessent Apple Pie Flavour Drops
- 2.5 tsp Hedessent Caramel Flavour Drops
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a medium bowl, combine all the nuts and seeds.
- Choose a flavour combination and mix the neutral oil with the selected flavour drops in a small bowl until well blended.
- Drizzle the flavoured oil over the nuts and seeds, sprinkle with salt, and mix everything until evenly coated.
- Spread the mixture out on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant.
- After baking, let the mix cool for at least an hour to allow the flavours to develop.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks—if it lasts that long!
